About the series

In partnership with Channel 4, we created Headstrong, a social content series for Public Health England to help young people through an incredibly difficult year.

The two series featured six well known youth influencers, all giving clinical tips and techniques on everything from being a young carer in the pandemic, to dealing with autism at school.

Resonate with the audience

Featuring some of the UK’s most popular young influencers, like online comedy sensation Munya Chuwawa, body positivity advocate Megan Crabbe and Hollyoaks Actress and activist Talia Grant.

Each episode had a key focus - sleep, young carers and autism - which offered tips and techniques on how to look after yourself and your mental health.

The execution

The films needed to feel authentic to the influencer, so we shot them just as they would their own videos.

We wanted the take home messages to be clear but not clinical so we devised a graphical layer to them where the mental health messaging felt part of film, not opposed to it.

The impact

Posted on C4’s and E4’s social platforms, the films had 2.50M minutes viewed and 11x more shares than their average post.

The three episodes from the second series landed the top spots for best performing branded content at the channel in 2021.
